Macy's and its Customers Generate $5.8 Million
to Grant Wishes
Generosity was in the in air at Macy's this holiday season as the 2007 Thanks For Sharing holiday gifts rewards program raised a record $5.8 million for the Make-A-Wish Foundation® Macy's opened this national program in late September, enabling customers to enroll and receive rewards for shopping at Macy's while supporting charities in their communities at the same time.

Thanks for Sharing"The Thanks For Sharing program has been a tremendous success, and the Make-A-Wish Foundation is so grateful for Macy's partnership," said David Williams, Make-A-Wish Foundation of America president and chief executive officer.  "This year's funds will help us grant more than 800 wishes to courageous kids around the country.  It's truly a wonderful gift."

Thanks For Sharing debuted as a Macy's initiative in 2003 - a distinctive effort benefiting customers during the holiday season and charities, including the Make-A-Wish Foundation, throughout the year.  For a $25 enrollment fee, Macy's cardholders earn a 10-percent reward on most Macy's and macys.com purchases made with their Macy's credit card during the holiday season.  Since 2003, Macy's has contributed $14.9 million to the Make-A-Wish Foundation through Thanks For Sharing.

Paul's Wish to Meet Tony Romo

Paul's Wish to Meet Tony Romo

By Wish Child Paul, age 9

"A few months ago, I found out that I would be granted a wish from the Make-A-Wish Foundation. My mom always thought that Make-A-Wish was only for terminally ill children but later found out that any child with a life-threatening medical condition, can get a wish. I have Primary Ciliary Dyskinesia (PCD) and unfortunately it is a life-threatening medical condition. I knew right away what to wish for - to meet quarterback Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys. You see, even though I have PCD, I love playing sports, watching sports, or anything to do with sports! Before school I watch ESPN and NFL Total Access and after school and on weekends I play sports..." more>

Paul's wish was adopted by Fedway Associates.

Event Spotlight

Make-A-Wish 25th Anniversary Gala
Each spring, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of New Jersey eagerly anticipates the most exciting night of the year, our Make-A-Wish Gala! This year we are celebrating 25 years of wish granting in the Garden State! This wonderful accomplishment is surely an occasion to celebrate and celebrate we will! The 25th Anniversary Make-A-Wish Gala will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025th Anniversary Gala08 at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson. Once again, the event promises to be a night celebrating hope, strength, and joy. The Gala is comprised of a black-tie dinner, silent and live auctions, as well as plenty of dancing to the wonderful sounds of Tim McLoone and the Shirleys. One of the greatest moments of the evening involves a testimonial from a wish child and family. With such buzz surrounding past successful Galas, the event is expected to sell out. If you would like to participate in this exciting night, please contact Kim Puleo at (908) 964-5055 or kpuleo@wishnj.org.

Kids for Wish Kids

Kids Who Care
Kids Who Care For nearly ten years, Lynn Kaplan of the Millington School in Stirling has shared the power of a wish with her students by organizing various sales to benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Jersey. Working under the name Kids Who Care, the student group has raised over $20,000 over the years for the New Jersey Chapter of Make-A-Wish. Their most recent two-day holiday sale, held on November 30 and December 1, 2007 raised $3,500, continuing their outstanding efforts in supporting the Foundation.
The Kids Who Care program presented checks from their holiday sale to Make-A-Wish volunteer Michele Turnbull on Monday, February 11 at the Long Hill Township Library, Valley Road, Gillette.
